CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A 59-year-old woman was hit and killed in southeast Charlotte, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Shortly after 9 p.m. on Sunday, officers responded to a crash involving a pedestrian in the 9400 block of Monroe Road. When they arrived, they found 59-year-old Judith Elaine Holloway in the roadway with life-threatening injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene due to her injuries, officials said.



The vehicle involved, a Dodge Charger with front-end damage, and its driver, a 36-year-old woman, were also at the scene. Detectives say the driver was going east on Monroe Road when she hit Holloway who was crossing the street. The driver was not injured in the crash.
Police did not say if she was in a marked crosswalk or had the right of way to cross. Holloway’s toxicology reports are pending.
