(PINPOINT WEATHER) — HIGH WIND WARNING issued for the mountains through Monday. Wind Advisory is expiring at 6 p.m. for the Foothills & Piedmont.
What a blustery day! We’ve had gusts around 50-55 mph today, even long after the storms passed. Although the wind will relax a bit around the Charlotte area, the mountains will still get some pretty high gusts through Monday. Mountain snow showers will be tapering off tonight as well.

Presidents’ Day on Monday and Tuesday are nice! Sunshine lingers with highs in the low-mid 50s.
Wednesday is a PINPOINT WEATHER ALERT DAY as the next winter storm moves into the region. Moisture will be moving in from the south and west, combined with cold temps hovering in the 30s. As of now, it looks like it could be an icy mess for most of the Piedmont, including Charlotte, with a sleet/freezing rain/snow combo that could develop. The mountains will likely be mostly snow. We’ll have more details on accumulation, etc. starting Monday, but definitely going to be a messy day with possible power outages.

The rest of the week is drier but cold. Lows will be in the 20s with highs mainly in the 40s to near 50 through next weekend.
Tonight: Clear and blustery. Low 30.
Presidents’ Day: Sunny. High 50.
