Report: Sheboygan Falls Shooting — On Tuesday afternoon, a double shooting near St. Mary’s Church in Sheboygan Falls left the quiet community shaken and prompted an immediate law enforcement response. The Sheboygan Falls Police Chief, Jason Meyer, confirmed that at least one suspect is currently in custody as the investigation remains active and ongoing.

The incident unfolded around 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of WIS 32 and St. Mary’s Church. Police arrived promptly to discover two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers secured the area swiftly to render aid to the victims and coordinated with Sheboygan County dispatch alongside nearby emergency medical personnel. Given the severity of the injuries, emergency responders called in Flight for Life, an air transport service for critically injured patients. One victim was airlifted from the scene while the second was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital. At this time, authorities have withheld the names and the conditions of the victims, citing the early stages of the investigation.

Following the shooting, WIS 32 was closed entirely between Park Street and School Street to facilitate the ongoing police work and emergency response. Officers remain on site conducting a thorough investigation, which includes interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence. Surveillance footage from nearby homes and businesses is being reviewed to piece together the events that led to the shooting.

The community’s reaction has been one of shock and concern. Institutions near the shooting site, including St. Mary’s Church, went into lockdown as a precautionary measure during the police search. Although at least one suspect is in custody, officials have not disclosed if additional suspects are being pursued or the motive behind the attack.

Police Chief Jason Meyer provided a brief but poignant statement regarding the incident: “This is a very active and fluid investigation. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families, and we are doing everything possible to determine what led to this senseless act of violence.” Formal charges have not yet been announced, and authorities plan to release further details once the crime scene has been fully processed and more information becomes available.

In the meantime, law enforcement is urging anyone with relevant information or who witnessed the shooting to come forward to assist with the investigation. The cooperation of the community could be pivotal in uncovering the full circumstances surrounding the attack.

Sheboygan Falls is known for its close-knit and supportive community, and in the wake of this traumatic event, residents have begun reaching out to offer support to the affected families. Local leaders have emphasized that counseling services will be made available to those impacted by the violence, particularly students at nearby schools and members of local places of worship, ensuring emotional support is accessible during this difficult time.

As the investigation continues, authorities are asking residents and the public to stay tuned to official city and police department channels for updates and developments. The community hopes for answers and resolution soon, while coming together to heal from the shock of this tragic incident. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
