Winnipeg has lost one of its own. Jackson Fortin, a beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away tragically, leaving behind a community heartbroken by the loss of someone so full of life. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Jackson was deeply connected to his city, his family, and the people who were fortunate enough to know him.

Jackson’s kindness and warmth touched everyone he met. Whether through his infectious laughter, his willingness to lend a helping hand, or his ability to make even the simplest moments feel special, he had a way of leaving a lasting impression. Friends remember him as the kind of person who could light up a room—someone who made others feel seen, valued, and loved.

While the circumstances of his passing are painful, what remains is the legacy of a young man who lived with heart and authenticity. Jackson’s family and friends will forever cherish the memories of his smile, his humor, and the love he shared so freely.

In this time of unimaginable grief, the community has come together to honor Jackson’s memory. Stories of his generosity, his loyalty, and his vibrant spirit are being shared, a testament to the impact he had in his too-short time with us.

Rest easy, Jackson. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
