With deep sorrow and abiding love, we share the passing of Nigel Wright, who died on June 4, 2025, in Miami, Florida, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 53 years old.

Nigel Wright was more than just a name—he was a vibrant spirit, a steady presence, and a source of light to everyone privileged to know him. Born on August 17, 1971, Nigel was raised in Miami and remained deeply connected to his hometown throughout his life. Whether through his work, friendships, or service, Nigel exemplified strength, humility, and compassion.

From a young age, Nigel showed an exceptional intellect and a natural curiosity about the world. After graduating from Coral Gables Senior High School, he pursued a degree in communications from Florida International University. He went on to build a successful career in media and public relations, where his gift for storytelling and connection shone brightly. Known for his warm demeanor and sharp mind, Nigel earned the respect of colleagues and clients alike.

But Nigel’s career achievements were just one chapter in the story of a deeply fulfilling life. A devoted son, brother, and friend, Nigel treasured his family and social circles. He was the kind of person who never forgot a birthday, always knew how to make someone smile, and was the first to offer help when someone needed it. Nigel had an unshakable sense of loyalty and a profound capacity for empathy.

Over the years, Nigel became deeply involved in local nonprofit work. He volunteered with cancer awareness organizations even before his own diagnosis, and he dedicated countless hours to mentoring at-risk youth in Miami. His passion for service never dimmed, not even during his illness. In fact, many who visited Nigel during his final months were struck by his enduring positivity and grace. He often said, “No matter how short life is, there’s always time to make someone’s day better.”

In 2022, Nigel was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Though the news was devastating, he faced his illness with remarkable courage and dignity. With the unwavering support of his family and close friends, he underwent treatment and continued to live fully and meaningfully. Through every hardship, Nigel remained a beacon of hope—not just for those battling cancer, but for anyone struggling to find light in dark places.

Nigel is survived by his loving mother, Clara Wright, his younger sister, Monique Wright, and a wide circle of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family who will miss him dearly. He is also remembered fondly by his dog, Jasper, who never left his side.

A celebration of Nigel’s life will be held on Saturday, June 8, at 2 p.m. at the Unity on the Bay Church in Miami. The family welcomes all who knew him to come share memories, laughter, and tears. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Nigel’s name to the American Cancer Society or the Miami Children’s Initiative—two causes close to his heart.

Though Nigel is no longer with us in body, his legacy of kindness, courage, and compassion lives on in every life he touched. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate a life that was rich in purpose and love.

Rest in peace, Nigel. You will never be forgotten.
