The Roanoke Police Department is actively searching for 39-year-old Quante Martice Dillard Sr. in connection with the fatal shooting of 42-year-old Lamar Nicolas Burkes. The incident occurred on March 1, 2025, at approximately 10:00 p.m. in the 700 block of 30th St NW. Officers responded to reports of a shooting and discovered Burkes suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. DUPONT, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — An apartment building in Dupont is damaged after flames tore through it early Wednesday morning. Fire crews were called to Main Street around 3:30 for a reported structure fire. Body found in wooded area, coroner investigates Crews say the fire started on the first floor but got into the walls and spread to the roof. There were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
