The bodies of two individuals who tragically lost their lives in an avalanche were recovered on Tuesday in the Central Cascade Mountains, west of Bend. The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Unit found the victims along Trail 8 on Forest Service Road 370, situated between the Bend Watershed and Broken Top, in an area known as Happy Valley. Authorities believe the couple was enjoying recreational activities in the area when they were caught in the avalanche.
