The live music picture has more or less taken shape for summer 2025. What’s coming? This summer may not have the biggest of the big blockbuster concerts compared to last summer — farewell, Eras Tour — but that still leaves Beyoncé, AC/DC, The Weeknd, the recently announced Lady Gaga and lots more. It begins with the most concert-packed May in memory: Along with the first three of the aforementioned, Paul Simon is playing what’s likely his farewell Chicago show at Symphony Center, Post Malone is at Wrigley and Sueños returns to Grant Park. Later in August, Oasis, My Chemical Romance,…

The cuts affect 41 of NAR’s 344 employees and, with the elimination of open roles, hit various departments including public relations and communications, creative and content strategy, digital strategy, meetings and events, member development, human resources, member engagement, member experience, research, finance and IT. “The industry is changing, and it is our responsibility to lead and change with it,” said NAR CEO Nykia Wright in the Friday news…
Northwest Indiana immigration attorneys raised concerns with an immigration bill that received final approval by the legislature this week as unconstitutional and an unfunded mandate on local governments. House Bill 1393, authored by State Rep. Garrett Bascom, R-Lawrenceburg, was amended in a Senate committee to require jail and detention facility employees to tell county sheriffs when they have probable cause to believe an arrestee, who is facing misdemeanor or felony charges, is not in the county legally. The sheriff would then be required to contact Immigration and Customs Enforcement under the bill. Initially, the bill required police officers who arrest…
Gov. JB Pritzker will lead a delegation of business, civic and government leaders on a trade mission to Mexico next week at a time when one of his most ardent political foes, President Donald Trump, has continued to foster a hostile relationship with the country on immigration and economic matters. The trade mission will be the Democratic governor’s latest effort to promote Illinois to foreign businesses. Last year, Pritzker led trade missions to Canada and Japan to highlight the state’s roles in clean energy and technological innovation, and discuss ways for the state to collaborate with those nations on economic…
Niele Ivey knows her team. So when the Notre Dame Fighting Irish ended their regular season on a low note, the head coach knew her team didn’t need reassurance or encouragement. None of that. They needed to get angry. The Irish have spent the last three weeks honing their fury into a sharp edge. They resent their loss on Senior Night and the early exit from the ACC Tournament. They hate the No. 3 seed. And most importantly, the Irish despise the way they’ve let themselves play: sluggish, timid, unimposing. Ahead of a rematch against the No. 2 seed TCU…
Black Series RVs is a luxury RV company that offers various trailers, catered to those who may live a more rugged lifestyle, such as overlanding in remote destinations. They’re advertised as “the strongest and most durable trailer on the market.” Each RV ranges from $40,000 to $100,000. Over 50 of the company’s products on a storage lot near the showroom have been taken over by squatters. “We’ve noticed that several of the trailers have been burning,” Marilyn Martinez, who works close to the site, told CBS. “There are homeless people here sometimes late at night. They’re coming in and out.”…
Christy and Paul Akeo were detained in Cancún on March 4 after stepping off a plane from Michigan and placed in a maximum security prison, where they remain 24 days later. The couple is accused of defrauding Palace Resorts between 2021 and 2022 by wrongly reversing credit card transactions after they purchased a timeshare package which guaranteed them preferential rates. But their daughter, Lindsey, insists her parents were within their rights to do so after the resort breached the contract they’d signed. She has accused the resort of setting her parents up and holding them captive as retribution. The resort…
