CABARRUS COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A tragic freak accident on Christmas killed a mother and her 12-year-old daughter in Cabarrus County, NC State Highway Patrol confirmed. The accident happened just before 10 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 25, along Gold Hill Road. Troopers said one vehicle was traveling southwest on Gold Hill Road, while another was traveling northeast.
