CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Mint Hill man who was pardoned for his conviction from the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack was also arrested last fall on child pornography charges. According to the federal court documents, the FBI and Mint Hill Police carried out a search warrant in November 2023 for the home of David Daniel related to the Jan. 6 allegations. During the search on assault and trespassing charges, agents also recovered his iPhone and several other electronic devices. CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Crews were battling a 2-alarm fire at historic school building near South End Monday afternoon. According to the Charlotte Fire Department, firefighters responded around 2:30 p.m. to the former Wilmore School in the 400 block of West Boulevard. Smoke was reportedly showing from the unoccupied building, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools confirmed. The fire was controlled in 25 minutes by 60 firefighters. No evacuations were needed, and injuries were reported.
