Police in Chesapeake are investigating a tragic case of an apparent murder-suicide that left a woman and three children dead. Authorities responded to a welfare check just before 7 a.m. in the 3000 block of Welcome Road. Upon arrival, officers determined that an armed woman was inside the residence. After unsuccessful negotiation attempts, the SWAT team was called in for assistance. Believing there was a high likelihood that juveniles inside the home were deceased, the SWAT team made an emergency entry.
