A Vietnamese father died by suicide after shooting and killing his entire family at their residence in Milpitas, California. 36-year-old Vinh Quang Nguyen passed away in an apparent suicide after fatally shooting his wife 36-year-old Chau Bao “Becky” Pham and their two children ( a 9-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter) before turning the gun on himself. MONROE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The Monroe Police Department is looking for an individual accused of damaging graves at a local cemetery. Saturday afternoon, the police department obtained video of a group of individuals recording themselves destroying graves at the Hillcrest Cemetery on Adams Street. Officers went to the site and discovered the damaged graves from the video. An arrest warrant has been issued for 18-year-old Jaykob Marquez Bracey of Monroe for felony descreating a gravestone. CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Three people were taken to the hospital after a crash in Uptown Charlotte, according to Medic. Officials say the crash occurred on Saturday on W. 4th Street at S. Poplar Street. Medic transported two patients with serious injuries and another with life-threatening injuries. Police have not said what caused the crash or what time the crash happened.
CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Do not throw away your shot at winning tickets to see Hamilton’s first performance in Charlotte at the Belk Theater. Producer Jeffrey Seller and Blumenthal Arts announced a digital lottery for tickets to performances from January 7 through 12. A limited number of tickets will be available for every performance for $10 each. The lottery opened on Friday, December 27 and will close at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, January 2. CABARRUS COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A tragic freak accident on Christmas killed a mother and her 12-year-old daughter in Cabarrus County, NC State Highway Patrol confirmed. The accident happened just before 10 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 25, along Gold Hill Road. Troopers said one vehicle was traveling southwest on Gold Hill Road, while another was traveling northeast. The first vehicle struck a deer in the road, sending the deer left of center. Troopers said the deer went through the windshield of the second vehicle, hitting the driver and rear-right passenger, identified as 31-year-old Melissa Mullis and 12-year-old Carson Cummings.…
HUNTERSVILLE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Two single-car crashes closed local roads early Saturday morning in Huntersville, officials say. The Huntersville Fire Department responded to a crash on Eastfield Road near Highland Creek Parkway around 3:20 a.m. on Saturday. Officials responded to the scene on the 3800 block of Tiffany Rose Place around 11:20 a.m. on Saturday. Medic said two people were taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
