Early on Tuesday morning, a pregnant mother and her unborn child perished in a terrible accident, according to the Greenville County Coroner’s Office. At 4:52 a.m., Marie Jabbie, 24, was traveling on I-385 north close to mile marker 33 when her car swerved off the road, according to officials. The coroner’s office claims that because of her pregnancy, Jabbie had an emergency cesarean section after emergency medical services took her to the hospital. A volunteer firefighter and paramedic was killed in an off-duty accident Tuesday morning. William Oxendine, a volunteer with the Center Rural Volunteer Fire Department and paramedic with Stanly County EMS, was hit by a logging truck on his way to work, according to Norwood Police Chief James Wilson. The accident happened at 7:01 a.m. on U.S. Highway 52 near the Marathon convenience store. Wilson said the department is actively investigating the crash. The North Carolina State Board of Education is set to discuss and vote on a final policy regarding NIL deals during their two-day meeting in Raleigh. The policy would regulate, rather than prohibit, high school students from negotiating NIL deals. If approved, athletes could begin working out deals with brands and companies this summer.
