CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — One person was hurt in a wreck on Interstate 77 near Tyvola Road, the Mecklenburg EMS Agency (MEDIC) reports. According to drivenc.gov, This incident was first reported around 6:22 a.m. Thursday. One lane was closed after exit 5 for Tyvola Road, prompting backups. The crash was cleared around 6:45 a.m. MEDIC says they took one person to Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center with serious injuries. Authorities did not say what led up to the crash or if anyone else was involved.
