Authorities report that a 22-year-old woman from Stillwater died in a collision on State Highway 33 in Payne County on Wednesday night. According to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol collision report, the crash occurred around 9:15 p.m. when a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu, heading east on State Highway 33, attempted to pass four vehicles in a designated passing zone. During the maneuver, the Malibu collided head-on with a 2011 Ford F-250. The driver of the Malibu, identified as Terra Richmond, was pronounced dead at the scene. A jet carrying a group of figure skaters, their parents, and coaches collided with an Army helicopter while landing at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport on Wednesday night. A London school has honored the memory of a “kind and popular” student who tragically lost his life after being struck by a train on his way to school. Jaiden Shehata, a Year 7 student, was involved in the fatal incident at a crossing near Kenley Station last Thursday around 8 a.m. He was on his way to Riddlesdown Collegiate in south Croydon, which closed the following day for a period of mourning. Former RAF squadron leader Jack Hemmings, a pioneering humanitarian pilot, has passed away at the age of 103. An early advocate of Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF), the world’s largest humanitarian airline, Mr. Hemmings dedicated much of his life to providing aid and relief. His wife, Kate, described him as a man who “left the world a better place for having lavished 103 years of love into it.” Born in Horam, East Sussex, Mr. Hemmings served as a pilot during the Second World War. Kevin Welton Barco, 56, was tragically struck and killed by two vehicles while crossing the road with his bicycle in Elizabeth City. The incident occurred around 6:46 p.m. on Tuesday in the 1700 block of Weeksville Road. Barco was crossing when he was hit by both vehicles, whose drivers remained at the scene. Emergency responders arrived quickly and attempted life-saving measures, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. The Elizabeth City Police Department is asking for the public’s help in gathering information about the incident.
