The gathering is part of a movement to oppose the early actions of President Donald Trump’s administration is taking off online, with plans to protest across the U.S. on Wednesday. GASTON COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Law enforcement officials are investigating along a Gaston County highway after remains were discovered early Wednesday morning. Gaston County Communications confirms the call came in just after 8:30 a.m. for reports of remains along US 321 near Hardin Road, just outside Dallas. According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, 62-year-old Melvin Smith, Jr. was a passenger in a vehicle that left the roadway and collided with a tree. The crash occurred around 10:45 p.m. on Alabama River Parkway, about two miles east of Prattville. The driver, a 23-year-old woman from Millbrook, sustained injuries and was transported to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for treatment.
