RALEIGH, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Republicans in the State House of Representatives introduced bills Wednesday related to early voting and further limiting gubernatorial powers. House Bill 66, sponsored by Rep. Wyatt Gable (R-Onslow County), calls for decreasing the number of days allotted for early voting in North Carolina. It would begin no earlier than the second Monday before an election, compared to the third Thursday that is currently practiced. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — As the Trump administration continues its mass deportation efforts across the nation, South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson is urging the state’s sheriffs to cooperate with ICE agents on operations held in the state. Attorney General Wilson sent a letter to sheriffs across the state asking them to enroll in a program that voluntarily partners with ICE to allow immigration operations to take place in their jurisdiction.
