CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Over 2,000 Duke Energy customers are without power after Friday’s winter storm brought snow and ice to the area. Most of the outages were caused by extreme weather or fallen trees in or near the area. As of 10 a.m. on Saturday, 2,045 people in Mecklenburg County and 236 in Gaston County were without power.
