CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Last week’s fatal mid-air crash over the Potomac River has prompted a lot of finger-pointing. The cause of the deadly collision of an American Airlines jet and a U.S. Army helicopter near Reagan National Airport is still unknown. Charlotte was able to rise to 80 degrees on Tuesday, which shattered the previous record of 76 degrees that was set back in 1926. This is also the second earliest day in history that Charlotte has hit 80 degrees. We did not quite beat the monthly record, as Charlotte has hit 82 degrees in the month of February in 2011 and 2018.
