CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department are investigating a fatal crash in east Charlotte Saturday night. The crash happened in the 7600 block of E. WT Harris Boulevard around 9 p.m. Medic says they transported six people, all with various injuries to the hospital. CMPD later said the crash turned deadly. CMPD has not said what led up to the crash.
The victims of a triple homicide that took place in Pitt County on Friday have been named by the authorities. According to the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office, two residents of Peace Ridge Court, Anthony Gribble, 80, and his wife, Paula Gribble, 76, were shot and killed. The 64-year-old Enrique Reyes of Forest Acres Drive has been identified as the third victim. Detectives from the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office began looking into four different crime scenes on Friday. A woman from Geneva County has tragically lost her life following a house fire that occurred on Saturday afternoon in Hartford. According to Geneva County Coroner Donny Atkinson, 77-year-old Barbara Carmichael of Hartford perished in the blaze at her residence on Rose Avenue. Atkinson further stated that Carmichael’s remains will be sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery for an autopsy.
