ROCK HILL, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A person has died after being struck while trying to cross Interstate 77 in Rock Hill early Sunday morning, officials say. South Carolina Highway Patrol responded to I-77 near mile marker 78 around 4:03 a.m. in reference to a crash involving a pedestrian. Officials say a 2025 BMW SUV was traveling north as the pedestrian attempted to walk across the northbound lanes. The pedestrian was struck and died at the scene. The crash remains under investigation by SCHP.

LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A person has died after colliding with a semi-truck in Lancaster County, trooper say. The crash happened on Jan. 11 at 6:34 p.m. on Flat Creek Road, eight miles north of Lancaster. Officials say a 2003 Ford Ranger was traveling east on Flat Creek Road while a 2024 Freightliner truck was traveling west. The semi-truck attempted to make a U-turn at Pit-A-Tat Road and the Ford collided with the truck. The driver of the Ford died at the scene. The crash is still under investigation by South Carolina Highway Patrol.

MONROE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The Water Resouces Department in Monroe are actively working on an emergency water main repair. Officials say the repair is on the 1600 block of E. Roosevelt Blvd at Highway 601 S. At least two westbound lanes of E. Roosevelt Blvd will be closed in that area as repairs get underway. The estimated restoration time is currently between 7-10 hours. Please follow all signage and slow down when passing working crews.

According to Smokey Barn News, a father is facing legal charges in connection with the terrible death of two children in a single-vehicle rollover accident near Springfield. According to Smokey Barn News, the collision happened around 7:22 p.m. on Friday in the 4700 block of Highway 161.
