BALTIMORE, MD – A man was fatally shot by police officers Monday night in southwest Baltimore, according to authorities. Baltimore Police Commissioner Rich Worley reported that officers were patrolling North Stricker Street and West Baltimore Street around 9:15 p.m. when they encountered a man believed to be armed. The man fled as officers approached him. Additional officers arrived and engaged the suspect, ultimately shooting him. The officers immediately rendered aid, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. WESTLAKE, OH – A Powerball ticket sold at Giant Eagle in Westlake has won a $100,000 prize in the August 5 drawing. The ticket matched four out of five numbers plus the Powerball, initially winning $50,000, which was doubled to $100,000 with the Powerplay option. The winning numbers for the draw were 29, 42, 44, 51, 54, and the Powerball number was 12, with a Powerplay multiplier of 2X. TEMPLE HILLS, MD – Police are investigating a shooting that occurred on the 2300 block of Anvil Lane in Temple Hills. The incident was reported at approximately 6:08 p.m. on Monday. The victim, an adult male, informed officers that he was shot in the stomach while walking from the Southern Ave Metro station. He stated that he was not the intended target of the shooting. TONAWANDA, NY – Police in the City of Tonawanda are investigating a shooting that left two people injured on Monday morning. Officers responded to a home on Cleveland Avenue shortly after 8 a.m. following reports of shots fired. Upon entering the residence, officers discovered two males who had been shot. Both victims were transported to Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) for treatment, but their current conditions remain unknown. While police have not released additional details, they have stated that the incident was isolated and poses no ongoing threat to the public.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A boy was injured in a shooting early Sunday in Southeast D.C., according to the D.C. Metro Police Department.. Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 900 block of Bellevue Street SE at approximately 1 a.m. Upon arrival, police found the boy who had been shot. He was conscious and breathing at the time. Police are investigating the incident, and no further details have been released. ALIQUIPPA, PA – A teenager was injured in an overnight shooting in Aliquippa, prompting an investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police. Officers responded to the 1200 block of Main Street shortly after midnight on Monday, where they discovered an 18-year-old man who had been shot. HARFORD COUNTY, MD – A tragic accident on Tuesday morning resulted in the death of a construction worker on Interstate 95 in Harford County. The incident occurred when the worker was struck by a dump truck reversing in a work zone near Mountain Road in the Joppatowne area, according to Maryland State Police. The identity of the deceased has not however been released. Following the accident, one lane of southbound I-95 was closed, causing traffic delays as authorities conducted their investigation. No other injuries were reported. Maryland State Police responded to the scene and are investigating the incident’s circumstances.
BALTIMORE, MD – A routine surveillance operation in Baltimore’s Central District led to the arrest of a man involved in illegal activities. On Monday afternoon at around 2:15 p.m., Central District BCIC Detectives monitoring CCTV in the 900 block of Pennsylvania Avenue observed a male suspect brandishing a handgun and distributing suspected controlled dangerous substances (CDS). Detectives quickly responded to the scene, where they apprehended a 31-year-old male without incident. A handgun and suspected CDS were recovered during the arrest. The suspect was taken to the Central Booking Intake Facility (CBIF) for processing.
