BALTIMORE, Md. — Officers from the Southwest District Action Team arrested a 17-year-old male for a handgun violation early Tuesday morning. The incident occurred at approximately 3:47 a.m. in the 900 block of South Caton Avenue. While speaking with the teenager, officers observed a handgun fall from his waistband to his ankle. The officers arrested the suspect without incident and transported him to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged as an adult.

BALTIMORE, Md. — A shooting investigation is underway in Baltimore’s Western District following an incident on Monday afternoon. At approximately 3 p.m., officers responded to the 2300 block of North Fulton Avenue after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found a 36-year-old woman with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Medics transported her to a nearby hospital for treatment. At approximately 8:59 a.m., officers responded to an assault report at the intersection of 7th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, Northwest. BALTIMORE, Md. – A 53-year-old man was arrested for suspected controlled dangerous substances (CDS) possession on August 9, following a call to the 5200 block of Reisterstown Road. Northwest District patrol officers arrived at approximately 11:39 a.m. and observed an unidentified male holding a pack of suspected CDS. The man was taken into custody, and a K-9 unit called to the scene alerted officers to the suspect’s vehicle, leading to the recovery of additional suspected CDS. WASHINGTON, D.C. – The D.C. Metro Police Department is requesting the public’s help in identifying suspects involved in a robbery that took place in Northeast Washington, D.C. On June 15, at approximately 12:58 p.m., the victim was riding an e-bike on the Metropolitan Branch Trail near the 500 block of V Street, Northeast, when multiple suspects assaulted him. The suspects stole the victim’s property and fled the scene on the e-bike. Nearby surveillance cameras captured images of the suspects. Police have released these images to aid in their identification and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

BOSTON, MA – James Carnes, a 61-year-old former officer of the Boston Police Department from Canton, was sentenced yesterday for committing substantial overtime fraud. U.S. District Court Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton ordered Carnes to two years of supervised release, with the initial six months to be served under home detention, and imposed a $5,000 fine along with $20,106 in restitution. Carnes admitted to submitting fraudulent overtime claims between July 2016 and February 2019.
