WASHINGTON, D.C. — A 14-year-old girl was shot Wednesday morning in Southeast Washington, prompting an ongoing investigation. Around 10 a.m., police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Bangor Street, where they found the girl with a gunshot wound. She was transported to the hospital and is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Investigators are still working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting and have not confirmed if it occurred on Bangor Street. WASHINGTON, D.C. — Police are seeking public assistance in locating 13-year-old Merkayla Butler, who was last seen in the unit block of Galveston Street in Southwest D.C. on Tuesday. Merkayla Butler is described as a Black female, standing 5’4″ tall, weighing 130 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black jacket, a pink top, blue jeans, and white and blue Nike shoes. MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — A man has been charged with murder following a deadly shooting in Montgomery Village on Monday, according to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD). Police responded to the 19300 block of Club House Road shortly after 11:30 a.m., where they found a 21-year-old Gaithersburg man with gunshot wounds. Despite officers’ attempts at life-saving measures, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
