New York, N.Y. — The New York Lottery has announced that two third-prize-winning tickets, each worth $50,000, were sold for the August 17 Powerball drawing. The winning tickets were purchased at 477 News & Tobacco, located at 477 Myrtle Ave in Brooklyn, and at 7-Eleven, located at 1117 New York Ave in Ogdensburg. Powerball numbers are drawn from a field of 1 to 69, with the red Power Ball drawn from a separate field of 1 to 26. Powerball drawings take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — A shooting in Southeast D.C. left a vehicle damaged by gunfire and a victim hospitalized on Saturday afternoon, prompting a search for the suspect captured on surveillance footage. At approximately 3:18 p.m., officers responded to a property damage report in the 3400 block of 13th Place, Southeast, and found a vehicle damaged by gunfire. WASHINGTON, D.C. — Authorities are seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a misdemeanor sexual abuse incident that took place early Sunday morning in Northwest Washington. At approximately 12:40 a.m., a suspect made unwanted sexual contact with a victim walking along the sidewalk in the 2600 block of Woodley Place, Northwest.
