WASHINGTON, D.C. — A fatal shooting in Southeast D.C. is under investigation. On Monday evening, at approximately 8:25 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 3000 block of Stanton Road, Southeast. Upon arrival, they discovered two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. One, identified as 19-year-old Vonte Martin of Southeast D.C., was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim, also an adult male, was transported to a local hospital for treatment by D.C. Fire and EMS. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident. Around 2:10 p.m. on August 19, officers were flagged down in the 1500 block of Benning Road, Northeast, by a victim who reported being robbed by two individuals.
