WASHINGTON, D.C. — An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred Tuesday night in Southeast D.C. The incident happened just after 8 p.m. in the 200 block of 37th Place SE, where a woman was shot as she was getting out of her car. The victim fled the scene and managed to flag down a police officer. DC Fire and EMS treated her on-site for minor injuries. On Wednesday, police arrested Mekhi Wilkins, 18, of Northwest D.C., charging him with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Authorities have arrested a 27-year-old man in connection with a June shooting in Northeast Washington. On June 13, officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 1500 block of Benning Road, Northeast, where they found a victim suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment. On Wednesday, Renard Levenberry, a resident of Northeast D.C., was taken into custody and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) following the issuance of a D.C. Superior Court Arrest Warrant.

BALTIMORE, MD — A fatal shooting occurred on August 21 in the Southern District, prompting an active homicide investigation. At approximately 12:25 p.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 800 block of South Paca Street. Upon arrival, they discovered an unidentified adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after. BALTIMORE, MD — A man has been arrested in connection with a June homicide in Baltimore’s Southern District. Gregory Barnes, 48, was taken into custody on Thursday and charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of 39-year-old Dennis Edmonds. Police discovered Edmonds’ body on West Bay Avenue on the morning of June 14. The Medical Examiner’s Office later determined that Edmonds died from a gunshot wound. Barnes is currently being held at the Central Booking Intake Facility.
GAITHERSBURG, Md. — A 28-year-old lawn mower operator died Tuesday afternoon following a collision with a car on Great Seneca Highway. The incident occurred at approximately 1:13 p.m. near the intersection of Great Seneca Highway and High Gables Drive, according to Montgomery County Police. Responding officers from the 6th District, along with Gaithersburg Police and Fire Rescue personnel, found the victim, identified as Juan Guerrero-Moreno of Silver Spring, unresponsive in the roadway.
