The incident occurred around 6:57 p.m. on August 23, in the 1300 block of Girard Street, Northwest. Responding officers discovered an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim, identified as Martinez Robinson of Waldorf, Maryland, was rushed to a nearby hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. Washington, D.C. — A suspect has been arrested in connection with a burglary at a business on Benning Road NE, following a swift response by law enforcement. The incident occurred in the early hours of August 24, when the suspect forcibly entered a business in the 1500 block of Benning Road, Northeast. Once inside, the suspect attempted to steal property before fleeing the scene. Officers quickly canvassed the area and apprehended the suspect. Following an investigation, 21-year-old Nikisher Alexander of Northeast D.C. was charged with Burglary Two.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — Nicholas Giampa, a Virginia man awaiting trial for the 2017 murders of his girlfriend’s parents, was found dead early Thursday in his Fairfax County jail cell. Giampa, 24, had been incarcerated since 2018, charged with the fatal shootings of Scott Fricker, 48, and Buckley Kuhn-Fricker, 43, in their Virginia home. Fairfax County police are investigating Giampa’s death but preliminarily do not suspect foul play.
