BALTIMORE, MD — A series of carjacking and auto theft incidents on September 23 and 24 have resulted in multiple juvenile arrests. The Baltimore Police Department (BPD) continues to investigate these crimes. On September 23, officers responded to an unarmed carjacking at 10:15 a.m. in the 6200 block of Winner Avenue, where a Lexus RX was stolen. Later that day, at 10:48 a.m., another unarmed carjacking attempt occurred in the 4800 block of Nurton Avenue involving the previously stolen Lexus. Seat Pleasant, MD—A mother faces several charges, including attempted murder, after allegedly shooting her 13-year-old daughter. On September 23, just before 5 PM, police responded to reports of a shooting in the 500 block of 69th Place. Officers found the girl suffering from a gunshot wound to her upper body, and she was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Gun Crimes Unit assisted in the investigation, which revealed that 32-year-old Talecka Brown shot her daughter inside their home. Montgomery County, MD—Detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a man inside his apartment over the weekend. On Sunday, officers from the Montgomery County Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 18500 block of Boysenberry Drive shortly before 11:30 AM. They found 37-year-old Antoine Lavale Parker inside his apartment with gunshot wounds, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Baltimore, MD—A 16-year-old male has been arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred in the Southern District. On August 31, the suspect shot a 26-year-old male victim in the 600 block of Cherry Hill Road. An arrest warrant for the suspect was approved on September 11, and he was taken into custody on September 13, charged with attempted first-degree murder. The suspect is currently held at the Central Booking Intake Facility without bail.
Baltimore, MD—A shooting investigation is underway following a report of a walk-in shooting victim at a local hospital. On September 24 at approximately 12:13 AM, officers found a 32-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the foot. The victim reported he was shot in the 2500 block of Garrison Boulevard. Baltimore, MD—The Baltimore Police Department detectives are asking for help in finding 23-year-old Anthony Dickens, who was reported missing. Anthony was last seen on September 20th at approximately 10 AM in the unit block of Light Street. He was wearing a black jacket, gray pants, and black shoes. Anyone with information about Anthony Dickens’ whereabouts is urged to call 911.
Baltimore, MD: A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an attempted murder that took place in the Central District. On August 5, 2023, a 32-year-old male was shot in the 200 block of South Broadway. Following an investigation, Jonathan Lopez of Martinsburg, West Virginia, was identified as the shooter through video evidence. Lopez was extradited to Baltimore City on September 18 and charged with attempted first-degree murder. He is currently being held without bail.
Baltimore, MD: A shooting in the Penn North neighborhood on Sunday night has resulted in the death of a 33-year-old woman. Officers responded to the 2700 block of Pennsylvania Avenue at approximately 9:05 PM and found Jasmine Simuel with a gunshot wound. She was transported to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Washington, D.C. An arrest has been made in connection with a burglary that occurred in Northwest, D.C. On Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at approximately 9:56 AM, a suspect entered an establishment in the 2200 block of 14th Street. The suspect stole property before fleeing the scene. On Tuesday, September 24, members of the D.C. Metro Police Fugitive Unit arrested 39-year-old Gardiner Sanders of Southeast, D.C. He was taken into custody from the Arlington County Detention Center and transported to the Third District, where he faces charges of Burglary Two and Destruction of Property.
Middletown, PA—A Powerball ticket worth $1 million was sold at a Philadelphia retailer for the drawing on September 23. The winning ticket matched five of the five white balls drawn—15, 21, 25, 37, and 45—but did not match the red Powerball, which was 19. The retailer, Sak Traders Inc., located at 3670 Richmond Street, will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket. Winners remain anonymous until prizes are claimed and validated.
