Albany, NY – The New York State Police Academy conducted pepper spray training for its 215th Basic School recruits. The training included supervised exposure to Oleoresin Capsicum (OC), commonly known as pepper spray. OC, an oily resin found in pepper glands, is utilized as a less lethal tool during civil disturbances or when arresting violent or resistive suspects. The training is designed to ensure recruits can still effectively use their police powers in real-world scenarios, even if they are contaminated with OC during its application. Pittsburgh, PA – A Pine Township man with multiple warrants, who was involved in a standoff with police on Thursday, has been taken into custody, according to Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus. Queens, NY – Three men, Jone Smith and brothers Ryan and Brandon Dash, have been indicted by a Queens grand jury on 41 charges including kidnapping, robbery, and burglary. Columbus, OH – Detectives from the Columbus Division of Police are seeking assistance from the public to identify two suspects involved in an aggravated robbery. On Sunday, at approximately 6:25 p.m., a victim was sitting in his vehicle when six suspects approached him. LANCASTER, Pa. — An 18-year-old from Columbia will be tried as an adult for the fatal stabbing of her boyfriend after a Lancaster County judge denied a petition to move her case to juvenile court. CHESAPEAKE BEACH, MD – On Thursday at approximately 8:43 a.m., Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Bureau responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian in the area of Bayside Road and Bristol Drive in Chesapeake Beach. Deputies determined upon arrival that the pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and called the Crash Reconstruction Team for investigation.
