On Friday, July 12, 2024, at approximately 9:49 AM, police responded to multiple 911 calls reporting an assault in progress at the intersection of East 7th Street and Avenue A, within the confines of the 9th Precinct. Upon arrival, officers found a 74-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the back and a 44-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso.
