The community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Amari Jackson, a beloved high school baseball player, mentor, and friend whose vibrant life was cut tragically short.

Amari’s passing has left a deep void in the hearts of all who knew him, especially those who had the honor of witnessing his dedication on the field and his compassion off of it.

Amari was not just an athlete—he was a leader, a role model, and a beacon of joy. A proud member of Barnes Academy, Amari spent the past three summers immersed in the Academy’s camps, lessons, and programs.

From the moment he stepped onto the field, he brought with him an unmatched energy and an unwavering commitment to every child he coached and every teammate he supported.

To the staff at Barnes Academy, Amari wasn’t simply part of the team—he was family. His presence was a constant source of motivation and positivity. He arrived early, stayed late, and gave his all, not because he had to, but because it was in his nature to serve with joy and lead with love.

Whether running drills, setting up equipment, or offering encouraging words to younger players, Amari’s passion was evident in everything he did.

Described by coaches and peers alike as a “workhorse,” Amari had an infectious smile that could brighten even the toughest days. His determination on the baseball field was matched only by his kindness off of it. He was the kind of young man who saw the good in others, always extended a helping hand, and made those around him feel valued.

Though his time was far too short, Amari’s impact will resonate for years to come. The young athletes he mentored, the friends he uplifted, and the teammates he supported are a living testament to the kind of person he was. He embodied what it means to be a servant leader—someone who put others first, led by example, and inspired through quiet strength and unwavering faith.

The loss of Amari Jackson is a profound one, not just for his family and friends, but for the entire Pineville and Barnes Academy communities. His death has sent shockwaves through a tight-knit network of teammates, coaches, teachers, and families who watched him grow into the remarkable young man he became. It is a loss that words cannot fully capture.

In their time of grief, the Jackson family has asked for continued prayers and support. They, like so many others, are grappling with the reality of a future without the young man whose laughter, encouragement, and presence brought joy to every room he entered.

As we honor Amari’s memory, we hold onto the memories that made him so special—the late-night practices, the laughs during team dinners, the quiet moments of mentorship, and the powerful example he set just by being himself. He lived with intention, gave freely of his time and heart, and left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.

We take solace in the belief that Amari is now at peace, wrapped in the embrace of the Lord he served so faithfully. Though his earthly work has come to an end, his spirit remains woven into the fabric of the community he helped build.

Amari Jackson, your legacy lives on in every swing of the bat, every word of encouragement passed down, and every heart you touched. We love you dearly. You are gone far too soon, but never forgotten.
