Albany, GA – July 3, 2025 — The Albany Police Department (APD) is investigating a tragic shooting that claimed the life of 19-year-old Jamarion King, a young man whose life was cut short far too soon. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening, July 2, in the 1600 block of West Highland Avenue, and has sent ripples of shock and sorrow throughout the Albany community.
At approximately 4:37 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area following multiple reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency medical responders transported both individuals to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for treatment. Sadly, Jamarion King later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
