OCEAN COUNTY, NJ — Ocean County Commissioner Frank Sadeghi recently visited Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, gaining insights into its long history and current operations. Constructed initially in 1911, the base has played a significant role in supporting U.S. military efforts across various conflicts.
Commissioner Sadeghi highlighted the base’s innovative projects, including the development and testing of arresting wires for fighter jets and electric cargo carriers. These initiatives present a wealth of educational opportunities for students from Ocean County Vocational Technical School (OCVTS) and Ocean County College.
Energized by his visit, Sadeghi expressed enthusiasm for the potential collaborations between the educational institutions and the base. He looks forward to continuing his discussions with the base leadership, aiming to further integrate local students into the base’s diverse projects.
Sadeghi said he hopes to continue discussions with base officials to explore opportunities for Ocean County Vocational Technical School students in the future.
