ASBURY PAK, N.J. – Due to an emergency repair and increased demand from a heat wave, New Jersey American Water has issued a mandatory water conservation restriction for Monmouth and Ocean Counties for the next 48 hours.
Customers in affected areas are asked to limit water use to essential purposes only. The restriction follows the need to repair a 36-inch valve at the Jumping Brook Water Treatment Plant in Neptune. New Jersey American Water is addressing the issue promptly and safely.
This restriction affects customers in Aberdeen, Allenhurst, Asbury Park City, Atlantic Highlands, Avon, Bay Head, Belmar, Bradley Beach, Colts Neck Township, Deal, Eatontown, Elberon, Fair Haven, Highlands, Holmdel Township, Interlaken, Keansburg, Lake Como, Little Silver, Loch Arbor Village, Long Branch City, Matawan, Middletown Township, Monmouth Beach, Neptune City, Neptune Township (including Ocean Grove), Ocean Township, Oceanport, Red Bank, Rumson, Sea Bright, Shrewsbury, Shrewsbury Township, Tinton Falls, Union Beach, Wanamassa, and West Long Branch.
Impacted customers are notified through the company’s emergency notification system. They are asked to eliminate outdoor water use, such as lawn irrigation, car washing, and pool filling, and to use water wisely indoors until further notice.
New Jersey American Water appreciates the cooperation of its customers in refraining from non-essential outdoor water use during this repair and throughout the summer to ensure a sufficient supply for everyone.
A follow-up communication will be issued when the restriction is lifted. Updates are also available on the company’s website under Alerts. For more information and water conservation tips, visit www.newjerseyamwater.com.
