Louisville DMV branch Fatal Shooting; Active Shooter, 3 killed in shooting outside Louisville DMV branch

Three people were killed in a shooting at a Driver Licensing Regional Office in Valley Station on Friday afternoon, according to the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD).

Authorities stated that officers responded to reports of a shooting around 12:00 p.m. in the 6200 block of Willismore Drive, near Dixie Highway.

Upon arrival, officers discovered three victims down outside the building.

A male victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while two female victims were transported to a nearby hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries.

LMPD officials have not yet confirmed whether the shooting occurred inside or outside the facility.

Witnesses at the scene reported seeing an individual fleeing the area, though police have not released details on any potential suspects or motive.

Major Donald Boeckman of the LMPD stated that authorities do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public, but did not provide further clarification.
