Tywon Cannon Obituary, Death; – A man who sustained gunshot wounds in Janesville in mid-December 2024 and subsequently passed away weeks later was identified on Friday.
Tywon Cannon, aged 51, from Janesville, was shot in the 300 block of North High Street on December 17, 2024. According to the Rock County Medical Examiner’s Department, he succumbed to his injuries at a hospital on February 4, 2025.
Preliminary findings from a forensic autopsy indicate that Cannon’s death resulted from homicidal firearm-related trauma. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, led by the Janesville police.
Last month, authorities apprehended 41-year-old Deonte Foster, also from Janesville, in connection with the incident. Initially charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide and possession of a firearm as a felon, these charges were later elevated to first-degree intentional homicide following Cannon’s death.
Court records available online indicate that a trial in this matter is set to commence in April.
