(WBRE/WYOU) — State police report that a teen was injured after a hit-and-run and the driver now faces charges.
On February 20 around 6:45 a.m., troopers were informed of a hit-and-run involving a 17-year-old boy. The victim sustained a serious head injury and was flown to Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest Hospital, where he is now in stable condition.
Troopers said surveillance footage caught a vehicle speeding and hitting the victim before fleeing the scene. The vehicle’s New York license plate was visible and linked the car to 37-year-old Vladimir Jonathan Desir of Bushkill.
Desir contacted state police, confessed to being the driver, and turned himself in.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact PSP Blooming Grove at 570-226-5718.
