Reed Dewey Boise ID Accident; Lindsay Dewey’s Son, Reed Michael Dewey Dies After Accident Idaho
The Dewey family is mourning the tragic loss of their beloved son, Reed Michael Dewey, who passed away following a heartbreaking accident.
At just 22 months old, Reed brought immense joy, love, and happiness to those around him. His mother, Lindsay Dewey, shared an emotional message about the family’s grief, gratitude, and faith during this incredibly difficult time.
Lindsay expressed her deep sorrow, stating, “Our precious, joyful, and utterly perfect baby boy did not receive his earthly miracle. We are beyond shattered. But I can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude for getting to be his mama for 22 months. All he knew was love. And all he gave was love. Truly. And those who are close to us, can attest to that.”
Reed was known for his wild and fun-loving personality, bringing endless laughter and warmth into his family’s life. The devastating loss has left his loved ones in shock, struggling to comprehend a reality without their little boy.
“We’ve been robbed of watching our wild and fun little boy grow up. It is not fair and he didn’t deserve this. But we have a peace knowing he’s with our Lord & Savior as well as his Uncle Ty. Our lives changed in a matter of 10 seconds. And we’re truly still in shock. Please be praying for us and for Reed’s siblings as we’re going to have to navigate breaking the news to them soon.”
In the midst of their sorrow, the Dewey family has chosen to give Reed’s life a lasting impact. His organs will be donated to save the lives of other children in need.
“Although Reed didn’t get his miracle while here, he will become some other children’s miracle as our little hero will be donating his perfectly good organs to save some sick babies. This process could take several more days so we will remain at the hospital with him.”
The outpouring of love and support from family, friends, and the hospital staff has been overwhelming for the Dewey family. Lindsay expressed her heartfelt gratitude, saying, “We would like to thank everyone who has dropped everything in a moment’s notice for our family—to babysit, help at bedside, visit us for prayer, those who attended the vigil, and those prayer warriors who have had our back through all of this—including meals and donations.
The outpouring of support has been amazing and unexpected, and we appreciate everyone’s support during this difficult time. We are overwhelmed more than you can fathom by the love and prayer by SO many people, especially the staff here at the hospital. They have blown us away with how they have cared for our baby and for us during this unimaginable time.”
Though their hearts are broken, Lindsay and her husband, Eric, are determined to lean on their faith and each other to get through this unimaginable loss. “We have so many questions and emotions, and our lives are forever changed. But Eric and I are strong and we will get through this.”
