A chaotic and deadly sequence of events unfolded across Kingman on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, ending with the capture of an armed and dangerous fugitive after a rolling gun battle, a multi-agency pursuit, and multiple crime scenes.
The suspect, identified as Jeremy Muse, was taken into custody shortly after 5:15 p.m. near Willow and Airway Avenue, following a high-speed pursuit and multiple exchanges of gunfire with law enforcement. Authorities confirmed that Muse was wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a 61-year-old woman in Golden Valley earlier in the day.
Initial Incident: Grace Lutheran Church Area
The violence began just after noon, when Kingman Police Department (KPD) officers responded to shots fired near Grace Lutheran Church on Harrison Street at approximately 12:08 p.m. Emergency services, including the Kingman Fire Department (KFD), were staged for a possible gunshot wound victim.
By 12:12 p.m., officers located a silver Chevrolet Cruze sedan near The Dam Bar, believed to be tied to the suspect. Officers held one individual at gunpoint on Gates Avenue and started clearing backyards in search of the armed fugitive.
Authorities confirmed the suspect, Jeremy Muse, was armed with a revolver and was described as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall, mostly bald, with blue eyes. His vehicle bore Arizona plate 637CLS. By 1:17 p.m., officials linked him to the fatal shooting of the Golden Valley woman.
Pursuit and Shootout
At approximately 3:58 p.m., officers from the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) Ranger, and Kingman Police Department converged on Potter Avenue, where Muse was reportedly seen armed with a rifle.
Shortly after, a high-speed pursuit began westbound on US 66, with speeds exceeding 90 mph. As the chase progressed, shots were fired, and the suspect weaved through traffic, passing landmarks including Sunhaven Lane, Castlerock, and I-40, before fleeing east on Johnston Avenue and north on SHR Road. The AZDPS eventually terminated the pursuit due to high-risk conditions.
Muse bailed out of the vehicle near Harrison and Airway. More The ambulance carrying Muse to Kingman Regional Medical Center featured a medic from the AZDPS Ranger.
Road Closures and Second Crime Scene
Roads around Airway Avenue, Willow Avenue, and Harrison Street were closed off for the remainder of the evening as authorities processed the scene. A second active crime scene was also reported at US 66 and Diagonal Way shortly after the suspect’s arrest.
Ongoing Investigation
