Constance Scott,Cheryl Halperyn Obituary, Death; – The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has announced the identities of the two women who perished in a house fire in Pittsford last month.
The victims, Constance Scott, aged 89, and Cheryl Halperyn, aged 80, both residents of Pittsford, were found in the residence located at 82 Callingham Road, which was engulfed in flames on January 26. According to sheriff’s spokeswoman Amy Young, Halperyn was the owner of the property, as indicated by Pittsford town tax records. Both women resided in the home, which sustained significant damage due to the fire.
Pittsford Fire Chief Steve Cline reported that the initial firefighters who arrived at the scene on January 26 encountered intense flames emanating from the front corner of the house and subsequently discovered the two deceased individuals inside.
Young expressed heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of the victims in a news release. The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing, and no details regarding its origin have been disclosed. Callingham Road is situated in a neighborhood just south of Fairport Road, close to the town’s boundary with Perinton.
