WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A new ramen shop is opening in downtown Wilkes-Barre.
Owner Eric Wahyudi spoke with 28/22 News about bringing authentic Japanese cuisine to the Diamond City.

“Wilkes-Barre is a very good, diverse city and we want to introduce the Japanese culture and food to the neighborhood.”
Wahyudi has been in the restaurant business for more than 20 years and will bring “Shinjiru Ramen” to 41 South Main Street in Wilkes-Barre where Boozy B’s was located.
Shinjiru Ramen opened a Tannserville location in December 2023.

The menu will be about 80% the same as the Tannersville location, but they will be adding more items and have different offerings because the Wilkes-Barre location will have a liquor license.
Ramen, donburi, various appetizers, and teriyaki will be served. Wahyudi also mentioned lunch specials and hinted at a bento box lunch special.

Wahyudi says a favorite dish among customers is the spicy garlic tonkotsu ramen.
Shinjiru Ramen will be open from Monday to Saturday when Wahyudi hopes it will open in April.
