(PINPOINT WEATHER) — While it will stay dry if you’re out for Valentine’s Day tonight, the weather takes a turn for the weekend — getting active again!
Let’s start with Saturday. We’ve got another “cold air wedge” setting up around the region, leading to conditions similar to earlier this week — cloudy, colder and rainy at times. We’ll get some dry breaks throughout the day, but keep the umbrella handy.

There’s also the chance of a brief period of freezing rain in the mountains, leading to a Winter Weather Advisory there for Saturday morning. It won’t be as much as earlier this week, but watch for a few slick spots if you’re out and about there.
Sunday gets even more active ahead of a strong cold front. Some of you could wake up to torrential rain outside from around 5-10 a.m. as a line moves from west to east. Have a way to receive any alerts, like the free Pinpoint Weather App or NOAA Weather Radio, and it’s a good idea to turn off Do Not Disturb on your phone. Damaging wind gusts are the main threat as this line moves through, but a brief tornado can’t be ruled out. A Flood Watch will also be in effect for the mountains.

Sunshine returns for Presidents’ Day Monday.
Tonight: Increasing clouds. Low 34.
Saturday: Cloudy and chilly with scattered showers. High 45.
Sunday: Morning heavy rain and storms, windy. Scattered PM showers. 54/66.
