HICKORY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A woman has been charged after shooting a woman during an altercation at a Waffle House, according to the Hickory Police Department.
Around 2:50 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 9, officers investigated a shooting at the Waffle House at 1245 HWY 321 NW. When they arrived, they found a 35-year-old woman suffering non-life-threatening injuries and took her to a local hospital, officials said.

Investigators believe the victim was in an altercation with 29-year-old Megan Gail Shook and other people in the Waffle House parking lot when the shooting happened.
Police say Shook left the scene before they arrived but was quickly found by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office. She was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
