CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — One person is dead and four others are injured after a crash overnight on I-85 in north Charlotte, according to Medic.
Around 3:30 a.m., officials responded to the crash on I-85 north near Exit 40/N. Graham Street. Medic said one person was pronounced dead at the scene and four people were transported to local hospitals, one with life-threatening injuries and three with serious injuries.
NCDOT says the road will be closed for several hours. In the meantime, drivers should take Exit 39 and turn right onto Statesville Ave and then right onto Jeff Adams Drive to re-access I-85 north.
Police have not said what led to the crash or if any charges will be filed.
