Virginia State Police have reported that a Galax woman lost her life in a single-vehicle crash in Carroll County on February 4.
According to authorities, the accident occurred around 7:55 p.m. on Tuesday when 79-year-old Annie R. Felts was driving a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder eastbound on Pipers Gap Road. Her vehicle veered off the right side of the road, striking a tree before colliding with a fence.
The impact caused the SUV to overturn approximately four times, ejecting Felts from the vehicle.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. Police confirmed that she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
