MABANK, Texas (KETK) – The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office said that a 22-year-old father was arrested for injury to a child on Thursday.
On Tuesday, the Henderson County Crimes Against Children’s Task Force started an investigation into the condition of an infant after the Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth called the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office to report possible abuse.
According to the sheriff’s office, the investigators on the task force determined that the injuries were allegedly caused by the infant’s father, Paul Gonzalez, 22 of Mabank.
On Thursday, Gonzalez was arrested in Fort Worth on the charge of injury to a child, a first-degree felony, officials said.
Gonzalez was arraigned by Henderson County Justice of the Peace Precinct 5 Tanya Norris on Friday. He’s currently being held in the Henderson County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
