LUFKIN, Texas (KETK) – The City of Lufkin is running a critical Warrant Forgiveness Program that will let residents avoid arrest for municipal court warrants.
The program will run from Feb. 1 until April 30 and it will allow anyone with a city warrant to avoid arrest and part of the fees that would typically have to be paid in full for warrants.
“If you have an active warrant through the court, now is your chance to take control of the situation and avoid further consequences. Don’t wait. If you take action by visiting the Municipal Court, your warrant will be cleared, and you will not be arrested when you come to pay. This is a unique opportunity for a fresh start.”

For those who owe money, the city offered the following steps:
- Warrant fees will be waived if you voluntarily come forward and pay at least half of your outstanding balance, with the remaining balance set up on a payment plan.
- Pay in full, and SAVE an additional 20% off your fines (not including court costs).
- There are two extra dates when the Municipal Court will be open on Saturday for
payments from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. (Feb. 22 and March 22) - If you fail to take care of your warrant(s) you are subject to any of the following: arrest,
publication of your name online and increased costs.
The city said they are willing to work with residents who step forward even if they can’t pay half of the fees upfront.
To come forward and settle warrants, people can visit the Lufkin Municipal Court in person at 222 E. Shepherd Ave. They can also be reached by email at courtinfo@cityoflufkin.com or by phone at 936-633-0315.
