CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Authorities are investigating an alleged armed robbery of a Brinks armored truck Wednesday afternoon in south Charlotte.
Around 2:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29, Queen City News responded to a tip about a Brinks truck robbery at the intersection of Rea Road and Audrey Kell Road.
QCN observed police activity around a Brinks truck in the parking lot of a Truist Bank in Blakeney.


QCN reached out to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police and the Charlotte FBI for further information who confirmed an investigation was underway but would not give any more details.
Chick-fil-A is right next door and a spokesperson confirmed with Queen City News that the incident did not occur on their property and no team members were hurt.
It is unclear if a suspect was apprehended and how much was stolen from the Brinks truck.
