CORNELIUS, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Cornelius seafood restaurant is closing its door next week.
The Waterman Fish Bar announced Tuesday it’s closing its Lake Norman location Sunday, Feb. 2. The Charlotte-based restaurant has been at the intersection of Statesville Road and Bailey Road since 2022.
“It is with incredibly heavy hearts that we announce the permanent closure of The Waterman Fish Bar Lake Norman at 9615 Bailey Road,” owners wrote on social media. “We are so thankful to every one of you that supported us along this voyage. It’s been an honor to be a part of this community and we will cherish the memories made here.
The Waterman remains open at its original, South Blvd location. Its founder Paul Manley also runs Sea Level NC and Ace No. 3.
The Cornelius site is across the street from where the Atrium Health Lake Norman hospital is under construction.
